The Kekchi are the second largest indigenous group in Guatemala numbering at over 1.2 million. Over 700,000 of them live in Petén. There are countless Kekchi villages that still have no Gospel. Most of these villages are closed to outsiders, even Guatemalans, but God has been opening doors. 77% only speak Kekchi. Our heart is to partner with nationals to reach their own people.

In January 2008 we partnered with over 70 Kekchi national pastors in the western part of Petén to begin forming a Kekchi Bible institute to train pastors and missionaries to reach the rest of Petén. For more info please visit:

While we are learning Kekchi we work with two Kekchi nationals, host medical clinics, and show the Jesus film in villages in order to build relationships to open doors into these communities.
